The 17th Annual Summit County house tour is scheduled for the final two weekends of September.  A benefit for The Summit Foundation, this year’s Parade features residences located throughout Summit County.  Sales prices for the homes range from $670,000 to $4 million.  This much anticipated home tour features single and multi-family luxury homes built by over a dozen builders.

This Summit County event has become one of the state’s premier home tours and kicks off on September 17th & 18th and will open again September 24th & 25th. A-Basin to decide Saturday how long to stay open

KEYSTONE (AP) — Arapahoe Basin officials say they will decide Saturday whether to keep the ski resort open until July 4.

The ski area on the Continental Divide has been running its lifts Friday through Sunday since ending daily ski operations June 5.

A-Basin has said it would consider offering weekend skiing through July 4 if the snow was still good. The resort hasn't had any new snow in the last three days, but it still had a 62-inch base Monday.

Arapahoe Basin has offered skiing on July 4 four times, most recently in 1997.

Elsewhere, Snowbird in Utah and Mammoth, Alpine Meadows, Squaw Valley and Sugar Bowl in California are among ski areas offering skiing on the July 4 weekend. Timberline...

Skico skier visits up 1.7 percent; Colorado resorts up 2.6 percent

Season pass-holders' passion for powder helped Aspen Skiing Co. turn in a respectable performance in 2010-11, company officials said Wednesday as Colorado ski industry officials gathered in Aspen for an annual conference.

Skico posted a 1.7 percent increase in skier and rider visits compared to the prior season, company spokesman Jeff Hanle said. “Most of that increase was pass usage,” he said.

Destination business from travelers taking an overnight vacation was flat, according to Hanle.

Lots of early-season snow motivated Roaring Fork Valley residents to hit the slopes. While conditions were somewhat dry in the valley floor for much of the season, the snowpack above 8,000 feet hit near-record levels. When it snows more, locals...
