Keystone Colorado golf linksLASSIES ON THE LINKS

Fore! Time has come for the ladies, with two special golfing events at Keystone this summer.

During Women’s Golf Week, June 2-June 6, join Keystone’s golf professionals for free golf clinics 11am-12pm each day during this week.

All lady golfers are welcome regardless of ability. Learn the game or refine your skills. Rental clubs are available for novices and accomplished players.

The clinics take place June 2, 3, and 6 at the River Course, and June 4 and 5, 2008 at the Keystone Ranch course.

On Saturdays, from June 14 through August 30, Keystone’s River Course hosts Birdies and Bettys. Following an 8am shotgun start for nine holes of golf, participants can take a clinic with Keystone’s golf professionals and then enjoy a golfer’s lunch. Reservations are required a week in advance. Call the River Course golf shop at 970-496-1520.
Cost is $55 per Saturday.

For more information, call the Keystone Ranch course at 970-496-4250, the River Course at 970-496-4444, or visit www.keystoneresort.com.

THE LIFT OF LUXURY

Get prepared for a new, luxurious ride to the summit of Dercum Mountain this coming winter. A state-of-the-art eight passengerKeystone Colorado gondola Doppelmayr gondola is replacing the existing six-passenger River Run Gondola.

Answering the pleas from skiers and snowboarders, the bottom terminal of the gondola is being moved 371 feet north across the Snake River and into River Run Village.
A true touch of convenience is the new gondola mid-station under construction halfway up Dercum Mountain. You’ll be able to load and unload in both directions, giving you the option to ski or ride the upper trails from mid-mountain, and download at the end of the day when your legs are like limp noodles.

The gondola cabins offer a new comfort zone. Floor-to-ceiling windows afford the best possible view. Inside the cabin, there’s room to fit skis and snowboards. The new walk-in gondola cabins will offer convenient access for wheelchair passengers, mountain bikes and riders, strollers and toddlers, mountaintop tubing hill guests, and nighttime dining riders.

Lift lines promise to be shorter, as the new gondola will carry 2,400 people an hour, twice the capacity of the existing ride.

For more information about the gondola, call 970-496-2316, 877-625-1556 or visit www.keystoneresort.com.
